“It is almost seven years since I published the first story on this blog. I still get a special feeling each time the numbers show that an old story has found a new reader.”
Time flies.
On 17 October 2019, I published Be audacious, take that blind leap – my interview story. It was my very first story on the platform. I had told the story to friends, mentees and colleagues many times, but putting it in writing felt different. I wore a smile through the two hours it took me to finish it.
Covid had not yet arrived to rearrange our lives. I simply wanted a place where I could share an experience, voice an opinion, tell a story and perhaps leave one useful lesson behind. As I write this on 12 October 2026, we are only a few days away from the blog’s seventh anniversary. To be honest, I am still excited by what this platform can become. I have not even scratched the surface.
I looked through every analytics and tracking tool currently available on the website. Jetpack Stats was the only one with a complete record for the whole period from 1 January to 12 October 2026, so this ranking is based on Jetpack views. Google Analytics only began returning usable data in October and could not fairly rank the earlier months.
The website recorded 13,350 views during the period. The ten stories below accounted for 2,187 of those views.
What do I make of the numbers?
Readers still enjoy a good short story. Historical pieces continue to travel long after they are published. Practical articles also have a way of quietly climbing the list. Four of the ten entries were written in 2026. The others came from the older archive and found fresh readers this year. Data is indeed king.
Without taking too much time, here are the Top 10 most read stories on the blog in 2026 so far.
1; Everything You Were Too Embarrassed to Google About Mid-Life Crisis

402 views between 1 January and 12 October 2026.
No surprises here. Many people reach that awkward season when life looks settled from the outside, yet something inside keeps asking difficult questions. This article answers the questions people often type into Google at 2am and then quickly clear from their browser history.
It is honest, practical and occasionally uncomfortable. Clearly, that combination worked. Read the full article here.
2; Peeping Tom – Short story

Frank waits for the perfect moment to sneak a look into the ladies’ restroom at work. What begins as a disturbing habit soon develops into a tense story about voyeurism, secrecy and the confidence of a man who believes he will never be caught.
This story was published in 2022, yet it returned strongly in 2026. That is the lovely thing about an archive. A story can sleep for a while and suddenly wake up. Meet Frank here.
3; The Mummified Maiden

This post refuses to disappear from the annual lists. It tells the sad story of La Doncella, the fifteen-year-old Inca maiden whose body was discovered near the frozen summit of Llullaillaco more than 500 years after she was sacrificed.
I wrote it in 2020 after a difficult spell of writer’s block. It became my comeback article then, and readers are still finding it now. Need I say more? Read The Mummified Maiden.
4; I Parked My Car Five Minutes Away: So the Kids Wouldn’t See It.

MindVolution had entered a dry spell. The phones were quiet, proposals went unanswered and my diary had far too much free space. A chance conversation took me to a government secondary school to teach physics to forty teenagers.
I parked my car five minutes away because I did not want the students to see it. That small decision became part of a much bigger lesson about purpose, service and breaking a drought. Find out what happened.
5; Surugede – The dance of the Spirit

I honestly do not have a perfect explanation for the staying power of this story. Jolade’s tale follows Fijabi, a young warlord whose hunger for power and pride places him on a path the gods had already warned him about.
It reads like history, folklore and warning all at once. The story first appeared in 2020 and continues to attract readers from different parts of the world. Dance with Surugede here.
6; 10 worship songs in my morning playlist

There are mornings when Lagos traffic and a pair of puffy eyes make silence feel like the only sensible playlist. Then one worship song breaks through, lifts the energy and reminds the soul to be grateful.
This article shares ten songs that have done that for me. Six years after it was published, readers are still returning to the playlist. Listen and read along here.
7; The Necklace – a short story

I first encountered Guy de Maupassant’s famous morality tale during a management case study session at Lagos Business School. The lesson stayed with me long after the class ended.
It is a story about appearance, contentment, pride and the heavy price of one avoidable decision. If you have never read it, keep an open mind. The lesson is waiting here.
8; The Purpose in the Pause: Finding Meaning While You Wait

I had thought about writing on waiting for quite some time. Conversations with young people and mentees finally pushed me to do it. Waiting can feel like failure when nothing appears to be moving, but it can also be a season for preparation, clarity and growth.
This article is for anyone living between where they are and where they hope to be. Take a moment and read it.
9; Lessons from the Stone Soup

Stone Soup is an old European fable with many versions, but the lesson remains familiar. A community that has almost nothing can still create enough when people stop hiding what they have and begin to share.
It is a simple story about cooperation, trust and generosity. Simple stories often carry the heaviest lessons. Read the story and its lessons here.
10; 26 Phone Call Etiquette tips – Know more

A smile can travel through a phone call. So can boredom, irritation and bad manners. I have taught phone etiquette to mentees and clients for years, partly because too many personal and customer service calls in Nigeria begin with the energy already on the floor.
The article offers twenty-six practical tips for sounding warmer, listening properly and ending calls without leaving the other person exhausted. Refresh your phone manners here.
What surprised me most is how well the older stories performed. Six of the ten were published before 2026. A good story can outlive the day it was posted and find a completely different reader years later.
Thank you for reading, commenting and sharing. There are still a few months left in 2026, and a lot more stories to tell.
Happy Reading!
Cheers.
