The Tipping Point - the feature book

The tipping point is that magic moment when an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire.”

I started reading the book “The Tipping Point” early December and I found it very thought-provoking, insightful and absorbing. The book makes references to issues we can relate to and attempts to provide an explanation why seemingly innocuous businesses made dramatic turn into success.

After reading a bit of the analysis done by the author at every chapter, I would often put the book down to literally chew over the chunk of information and meditate.

In summary, the book expatiates on the following theme;

  •       The three rules of epidemics
  •       The law of few
  •       The stickiness factor
  •       The power of context

This book speaks no engineering, neither is it religious, however if you are willing to broaden your perspective about the way fashion trends, the ebb and how of crime waves, or, for that matter, the transformation of unknown books into bestsellers, or the rise of teenage smoking, or the phenomena of word of mouth, or any other mysterious changes that mark everyday life, then this book is worth the read.

 I paid a token for the book at a local store around my home (I had no prior information about the book at the time of purchase) and found the book worth more than I paid for it!

I would wish that you read the book- if possible in small instances ( a chapter at a time) and bask in the knowledge of what makes ideas/businesses/relationships etc tip!
